Programs
All programs at Treetops-in-the-Forest are based on the mission of the 501(c)3 non-profit (A.L.E) to provide each participant those experiences through which awareness of the impact of his or her choices and actions on present and future environments will be acquired.
Programs for Parents and Young Children
TTT - Treetops Tiny Tots, a parent-education program based on Richard Louv's Last Child in The Woods, encouraging nature experiences during infancy.
A Day in the Woods, for preschool children and their parents or grandparents to spend a day at Treetops-in-the-Forest exploring the natural world together.
Programs for School Groups
Weeklong in-residence sessions for organized groups from public*, private, charter, and Montessori Erdkinders on a range of environmental topics related to the humanities. Maximum group size is 24-25 children, plus one teacher/sponsor per 4-5 children. (* The curriculum for public schools includes TAKS/TEKS correlated content.)
Programs for Special Focus Groups
Sessions may be scheduled by request for Talented and Gifted, Academic Decathlon, Ap Environmental Science, Texas History and Folklore, Culinary Arts, Entrepreneurship, Creative Arts, Habitats in Literature, Math and Science, Sustainability, Global Awareness, et al. Minimum group size is 12 students.
Programs for Spring and Summer Breaks
Individual students may enroll for Spring and Summer sessions. Students returning to the campus receive a $50 scholarship toward the $175 tuition. Dates are subject to the wide variation in school calendars. Minimum of 12 students. Please see the calendar at the bottom of this page for currently scheduled programs.
